Short Bio
Christie started his career as an engineer in the Measurement and Control Division at Mintek before joining the Department of Chemical Engineering at Stellenbosch University as a lecturer. He currently fulfills the role of Chair for the Department. His research interests in hydrometallurgy include characterisation and modelling of leaching systems, recovery of base and precious metals from leach solutions, and development of processes for metal recovery from low grade ores and secondary resources.
